The Bee friendly bee hotel is built using locally sourced Douglas fir or larch from southern Germany, allowing us to completely avoid the use of chemical wood treatments. Since we manufacture the bee hotels in our in-house workshop, we guarantee that both the materials and the manufacturing process are species-appropriate, sustainable, and fair.
For example, we primarily use eco-friendly wooden dowels instead of screws, whose production is very energy-intensive. For the filling material, we use hardwoods from demolition sites, which we restore ourselves. And our nesting tubes are made from sustainably grown reeds, bamboo, and elderberry from Germany.
